Does Oracle’s acquisition affects MySQL ?

Today I read on some blog posts about the recent acquisition of Sun by Oracle Corporation and talking with some folks at work (which are Java developers) they are a little concern about this matter, they fear that Java becomes more Entreprise, I’m not a Java developer so I don’t know what to expect from this fusion (Java-wise), however I’m worried about the future of MySQL. Are they going to just fade it out, and throw it to the limbo ?

I haven’t heard anything or read anything regarding the place or status that MySQL will have after this move by Oracle but knowing that in the past big Corporations buy “small” competitors just to sink them, I started to worry.

What do you think?

some rambling..

That’s it. Today I start my adventure in developing my own collision detection system targeting PV3D…why ? because I’m lazy to learn how to implement other ones ( i.e. WOW, Box2D, etc..), and I rather reinvent the wheel and learn in the process (sounds stupid yeah yeah). I know that is not a very easy thing to accomplish (damn hard actually), besides Im not that smart, and am not a math/physics saavy dude, so there is also the possibility that I abandon the idea in the process, cut the crap and learn how to use an exisiting one hehe. Probably you are thinking, “WTF with this dude ?”, but that’s me, I like it the hard way, if someone already made something, aaaaa instead of learing how to implement it and go through all the documentation, I said “naaaa I just do it my own crappy way” …

Im trying to change though hehe… enough stupid non-sense, i’ll continue reading my math/physics boring books…. just had to take a little break because my head was about to explode.
